Plasmonic Nanoparticles and Femtosecond Lasers for Nanomedicine Applications: A Seminar by Prof. Michel Meunier
The EMNS lab and LCO is pleased to host Prof. Michel Meunier, Professor of Engineering Physics and Biomedical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, for a seminar on cutting-edge applications of nanotechnology in medicine.
Date & Time: September 30, 2025, 13:00–14:00
Location: ULB-Solbosch, UD4.116 (LCO, room Michel Kaisin)
Plasmonic nanoparticles, such as those made of gold or silver, offer unique possibilities for both diagnostics and therapeutics. In his talk, Prof. Meunier will present recent advances in two promising fields:
-
Femtosecond laser nanosurgery, a technique enabling precise gene transfection, biomolecule delivery, and neuronal stimulation.
-
Immunoplasmonics, where alloy nanoparticles are used as biomarkers to improve cancer diagnosis and enable multiplexed 3D imaging.
Full abstract available here.
We warmly invite all interested colleagues and students to attend this seminar and exchange ideas with our distinguished guest.
