Our Missions
In order to actively contribute to the sustainable development of society, the Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles is committed to fulfilling the following four missions:- To train engineers capable of playing an active role as citizens in a constantly changing world in order to meet its challenges.
- Conduct and promote high-level scientific research, both fundamental and applied, aimed at innovating, creating, and exploiting knowledge in the fields of engineering.
- To serve society by leveraging teaching and research expertise through research valorization, expert missions, continuing education, development cooperation, and the promotion of science and technology.
- To support the development of each of its members, especially its students, in accordance with its status as a free university institution.
Our strengths
A decidedly practical training program
From the very first year, students design and carry out large-scale projects in teams. Autonomous cars, hot air balloons, submarines, or drones: each year brings a new challenge! In the Master's program, you can get involved in development cooperation, take on the challenge of the Shell Eco-Marathon, do an internship in a company, develop your own concept with Triaxes, or even become a project manager. This range of activities allows you to grow according to your aspirations and develop a unique set of skills.
A multitude of specializations
The Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles offers eight Master's degrees in English, each leading to several specializations. In electromechanics, for example, you can specialize in aeronautics, mechatronics, energy, or focus more on management. Would you prefer to study telecommunications, artificial intelligence, or biomechanics? These are just a few of the 24 specializations offered by EPB.
Tailored support
The Polytech Educational Support Office will accompany you throughout your university career. During the first few weeks, Polytech Fresh Start will help you get used to the pace of life at the École polytechnique de Bruxelles. Question-and-answer sessions, assisted study groups, and individual meetings with the Polytech Coach will provide you with a stimulating environment to stay motivated, succeed in your studies, and earn your degree.
A possibility of a double degree
The Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles, in collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, offers several Bruface Master's degrees taught entirely in English: construction, chemistry and materials science, electromechanics, electronics and telecommunications, and architecture. The Bruface program is unique in that you will obtain a double degree from two excellent universities, the ULB (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) and the VUB (Vlaamse Gemeenschap).
A dream job
The employment rate for civil engineering graduates is close to 100%. In 2018, FABI reported a shortage of 500 engineers per year to meet the needs of the Belgian economy. This means that future engineers have the opportunity to choose their dream job and an attractive salary, either in Belgium or abroad.
Brussels, international capital
Located in the heart of Europe, in a vibrant student district, the Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles stands out from other schools thanks to its central location. Studying at EPB means being able to do your Master's degree in English and to interact with citizens from all around the world, take part in major sporting, political, and cultural events, do internships in renowned companies, and more. In short, it means experiencing a new life in an international capital city.
