The Codepo is the development cooperation unit of the École polytechnique de Bruxelles and the École interfacultaire de Bioingénieurs of the ULB. It was founded in 2007. This unit gathers and involves in various projects researchers from these Schools bearing an interest in development cooperation. The main objective of the Codepo is to offer Master students a first investment in a development cooperation project. Its missions relate mainly to:

  1. pedagogy, participating in the training of students and leading them to realize a project with the constraints related to international cooperation projects, both technical and cultural
  2. scientific and technical research, producing advances in the fields covered by the projects and disseminating the information in scientific journals or at conferences
  3. development education, by offering an openness to students on development cooperation and the main issues related to it, in order to make them citizens and engineers of the world.

Over the last twelve years, nearly 200 students have gone abroad to become involved in a development cooperation project, in various fields (agribusiness, valorisation of biodiversity, biomedical, environment, renewable energies,...).
